Stop the Trump administration's derailment of our environmental protections

While the Trump administration is focused on rolling back environmental protections, California lawmakers are leading the resistance with a bill that would provide legal protections for our progress.

Managing CLCV’s legislative program here in Sacramento gives me a first-hand seat to see just how important these efforts are.

While Trump and his allies are working to undo California’s clean car standards and open our coasts to reckless oil drilling, we’re working to enact bold new safeguards that would protect our clean water, clean air, and endangered species regardless of what happens nationally.

We’re ready to fight back and defend California’s progress with the California Environmental Defense Act (Senate Bill 1).

With coal lobbyist Andrew Wheeler leading the Environmental Protection Agency, it's clear Trump has his sights set on derailing the progress we've made. Trump is doubling down by nominating David Bernhardt -- a man who has so many conflicts of interests he keeps a list of them with him. 

Bernhardt's appointment is of special concern to California as he is a noted supporter of the environmentally destructive Cadiz water project. 

Senate Bill 1 would ensure California acts quickly when the Trump administration derails critical environmental protections.
