How We Can Pass the Green New Deal

The Green New Deal represents a transformative opportunity for California and the nation.

The excitement generated from Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s vision is resonating throughout our politics. Activists, voters, and even presidential candidates -- like Senators Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren, who recently declared their support for the Green New Deal -- are taking note.

The current Green New Deal resolution:

  1. Accelerates phasing out all fossil fuel extraction and use while transitioning to 100% renewable energy
  2. Addresses income inequality by supporting impacted communities and workers through green job training programs
  3. Strengthens the Clean Air Act to protect the health of our communities and our planet
  4. Slows down severe climate impacts like wildfires, drought and flooding

Add your name now and urge Congress to support the Green New Deal today!

Californians are no strangers to this fight. Last year with your support, CLCV turned years of campaign work into passing a 100% renewable energy goal with our allies in Sacramento. The Green New Deal is the next step and bolder action in response to what the latest science tells us is needed.

We know what’s at stake and what’s needed to win: bold action that will put the power back in the hands of the people and build a green economy that works for all of us, not just polluters.

We need to send a message to Congress that we will not settle for the same broken, old deal that puts corporations and their profits ahead of the health of our communities and the preservation of our natural resources.

Join our fight today and demand that your representative support the Green New Deal.

Anything less than a Green New Deal and a just transition is not enough.
